A few questions, answered
Can I generate names for a specific music genre?
Yes. Add your genre — indie, rock, metal, jazz, electronic — plus the energy and influences you want reflected.
Can the name include a particular word?
Yes. Add the word, starting letter or theme in the final answer, plus anything to avoid.
Are generated band names guaranteed to be available?
No. NameThat generates ideas; it doesn’t check artists, domains, handles or trademarks. Confirm availability before you release music.
Is the name generator free?
Your first batch of six names is free, with no account needed. Create a free account to generate more and keep your favourites across devices. You can save names in this browser and share your shortlist without signing up.
