About NameThat

NameThat.org is an independent naming tool based in the United Kingdom.

Our mission

Choosing a name should be enjoyable, not a stalemate. We help people find names they love — for a baby, a pet, a boat, a band or anything else — and agree on them faster.

How it works

You answer a few short questions about style, length and meaning. Our AI shortlists names to match, explains each one, and filters out anything rude or offensive. You save favourites and share the shortlist with whoever gets a vote.

Our approach

• Family-friendly. Every suggestion is screened before you see it.
• Explained. Each name comes with its meaning and why it fits.
• Fair. Your first batch is free, no account needed.
